Work Experience
Creative Loop recognises the need for consistently high quality work experience placements to go alongside the improved quality of training within each college. Creative Loop will deliver and facilitate work experience placements within Scotland's creative media industries to improve the flow of work ready graduates for the industry.
Continuing Professional Development
Creative Loop aims to respond to industry priorities and to significantly improve professional development opportunities for college staff within industry. Creative Loop is developing the idea of substitution, where college staff gaining professional development within industry are replaced in colleges by industry personnel to provide master-classes, adding value to courses across the television, radio, animation, visual communication and interactive media sectors.
Development of Online Units
Creative Loop is developing online content within existing programmes and is supporting supplementary provision for students and freelancers working in the sector. The project will focus on developing new materials around new techniques, new software issues and recognised skill gaps.
Establishing Regional Hubs
Creative Loop will increase the capacity of colleges to train and up-skill those working in the creative media industries by developing regional hubs acting as a focus for industry partnerships and the provision of flexible training.
This will in effect create a virtual hub allowing learners from across Scotland access to specialisms which it would not be viable to offer in each Centre. This provision will be supplementary to existing HN/ CPD provision delivered at each of the partner colleges. The six colleges will work in partnership to develop materials across the Creative Industries. For example:
- Aberdeen College & Cardonald College - develop material in television production
- Adam Smith College - sound technology and Interactive media and television production
- Dundee College - computer games, interactive media and develop animation materials
- Perth College - music video production
- Reid Kerr College - radio production
