In the coming weeks we will be revealing details of the Glasgow 2014 Host Broadcaster Training Initiative, with the launch of the scheme taking place at the Creative Loop Student Media Festival, taking place on the 8th and 9th of May in Glasgow.

The HBTI will take over one hundred students from the media sector in Scotland and develop their existing skills to broadcast standard. Intensive training sessions, world class training and indispensable practical experience will coalesce into professional opportunities at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The scheme was announced by First Minister Alex Salmond, watch his announcement here.

As a prelude to the launch, a number of pilot placements have taken place with students from Edinburgh, Napier, Clydebank and Perth Colleges. Opportunities just like the ones listed below will be available to you soon, and there will be a focus on students sharing their experiences to the benefit of everyone. The HBTI pages of the website will soon list a range of projects, placements and programmes that are taking students’ live production skills to the next level.
