A local independent newspaper company in the Glasgow area is looking for 2 trainee reporters to commence in September.
The vacancies are to be filled through the Glasgow Commonwealth Youth Employment Initiative. Applicants must be eligible and registered with the Glasgow Commonwealth Employment Initiative to apply. Applications for the scheme close on 30th September.
The Commonwealth Youth fund has been developed to identify the gap in the labour market for those young people who are not apprenticeship ready or those who left school to carry out additional training or further education but failed to secure employment. Similar to CAI, the fund encourages employers to create new job vacancies for young unemployed people by offering financial incentives.
The Commonwealth Youth Fund will support young people who are:
- Living within the Glasgow Local Authority Boundary Area
- Aged under 20 by start date of employment
- Unemployed or about to leave college or other training
- Legally entitled to work in the UK
To register for this fund contact your local Jobs in Business Glasgow or Skills Development Scotland office.
