Students will experience cutting-edge technology at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) tomorrow when they get a chance to see and train on some of the equipment they will be using working behind the scenes at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

As part of the Host Broadcaster Training Initiative, NEP Visions Ltd – one of the outside broadcast facilities suppliers for Glasgow 2014 Host Broadcasters– will bring its Atlantic Outside Broadcast truck to Glasgow Caledonian University on 30th May 2014 to give students and staff involved in the HBTI training in the latest HD recording and output equipment.

Atlantic is the latest in the NEP Visions fleet, and the triple-expander is the UK’s first fully integrated 1080p 3G-capable OB vehicle.

Students from Glasgow Caledonian University, University of Strathclyde, Perth College UHI, West College Scotland, Glasgow Clyde College, Glasgow Kelvin College, University of the West of Scotland and City of Glasgow College are expected to attend.

They will be given tours of the truck and hands-on training in the use of its vision, sound, cameras and operations facilities.
